Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a CDL to drive Convoy's vehicles?

No. Every vehicle in the fleet is license Class C. The 5 ton grip truck is downrated to 25,999 lb GVWR so non-CDL drivers can operate it.

Who is allowed to drive the vehicles?

Anybody can rent and drive the production trucks, production and passenger vans and the G&E Sprinter. The G&E trucks require a Convoy certified driver on the project, and we can supply one.

Can vehicles be picked up outside office hours?

Yes. Every vehicle is key code enabled, with gate and door codes for early pickups and late returns.

Do you deliver vehicles to set?

Yes. Key code access allows remote drop off of any vehicle package.

How are vehicles billed?

Per day, regardless of the day of the week, including grip packages. No weekend or holiday rates.

Is insurance required to rent a vehicle?

Yes. Any rental involving a vehicle requires insurance provided by the renter through a third party broker.
