5 TON GRIP TRUCK

    LIGHTING INSIDE AND OUT

    The 5 ton grip truck box is equipped with its own power system providing LED lighting throughout the interior and exterior of the box. No additional working lights are needed while wrapping on a late night or loading in at an early call. The truck is also wired for 30A shore power to provide power outlets throughout the truck.

    CUSTOM LIT JOCKEY BOXES

    The underbody of the 5 ton grip truck is custom made jockey boxes to hold sandbags, cable, grip gear and more. Each jockey box has a led light installed to make it easy to work in the dark. All light switches are located in the stairwell of the truck.

    OVERSIZED (7') LIFTGATE

    Each truck is outfitted with a top of the line palfinger liftgate. All of our truck liftgates are 7’ long and equipped with a cart stop to ensure safety for the cargo and passengers. Rated at 3300lbs, this liftgate will have the equipment to set in just a few trips.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a CDL to drive the 5 ton grip truck?

No. The 5 ton is built on a Ford F-750 chassis downrated to 25,999 lb GVWR, so it is license Class C and does not need a CDL. Our G&E trucks do require a Convoy certified driver on the project, and we can supply preferred grips, electrics and PA drivers.

What is included with the 5 ton grip truck rental?

A full grip and electric package: carts, quartz, distro, stands, frames, reflectors, rags, flags, ladders, speedrail, lumber, Hollaender fittings, junior, baby and misc hardware, safety gear and gel rolls. Expendables are billed as used. A distro package can be added on. The full list is on this page and in the PDF.

What is the difference between the 5 ton and the 3 ton grip truck?

The 5 ton is a 38 ft Ford F-750 with a 25,999 lb GVWR and 13.5 ft clearance, suited to larger commercial and feature builds. The 3 ton is a 28 ft Ford F-600 with 12 ft clearance that fits tighter locations. Both carry a 7 ft Palfinger liftgate, lit jockey boxes and a full G&E package.

How is the 5 ton grip truck billed?

Trucks and vans bill per day, including the grip package, regardless of the day of the week. There are no weekend or holiday rates.

Does the truck have power and lighting for night wraps?

Yes. The box has its own power system with LED lighting inside and out, lit jockey boxes with switches in the stairwell, and 30A shore power for outlets throughout the truck.

Can the 5 ton grip truck be delivered to set?

Yes. We deliver a la carte orders and full packages, and every vehicle is key code enabled for remote drop off. Rented vehicles can also be returned to our gated lot overnight at no charge.
